Ducati’s new 1098R is the closest thing the Italian firm has ever produced to a full-blooded World Superbike racer. Costing £24000 it has a 186bhp, 1200cc engine, top quality cycle parts, and for the first time ever on a road bike: traction control. Which is fastest – the Ducati Desmosedici RR or the Ferrari 430 Scuderia? Desmo Dav makes a few passes on his MotoGP Replica Sport Bike, a genuine Ducati Desmosedici rr , #1002 of 1500 made. Ducati made 1500 Desmosedici models for public purchase. The bike was launched at the 2006 Italian MotoGP event. The entire 500 unit allocation for the United States sold out in five hours.
