Ducati Desmosedici RRs are pretty special to begin with, but this one is even more spectacular. Its packed with Grand Prix technology (its almost a GP bike with lights) and makes 203bhp at the rear wheel, thanks to the loud GP-style Corse exhaust.

Ducati’s new 1098R is the closest thing the Italian firm has ever produced to a full-blooded World Superbike racer. Costing £24000 it has a 186bhp, 1200cc engine, top quality cycle parts, and for the first time ever on a road bike: traction control. The Ducati Desmo Challenge is a five-round Italian Championship held just for Ducati engined machines and Michael Neeves gives you a behind the scenes look at the Championship in this video. Senior Road Tester Michael Neeves went along to round three at Vallelunga, near Rome to check out the action and take part in a one-make Ducati Hypermotard race.
