I think they could have possibly made it through the turn, the first rider panicked and the 2nd rider target fixated on the side of the road.

He could’ve made it through the turn if he got off the brakes and just turned. I don’t think the 2nd guy was paying much attention to anything but what the first rider was doing.

he wasnt too fast for the turn. It target fixated on that tree. Had he just turned his head and looked the bike would have taken the turn at that speed w/o a problem.

Both have fallen! Guys next time slowly through a place you do not know!

@tweekscratch no, he went into it too fast. if you look, you’ll see his buddy on his brake too. you can’t lean while braking. or you’ll lose control like this guy did. if you look at the road, it was a sharp turn that came up as soon as the other one ended. they were just going too fast on an unfamiliar road, and this is what happens when you do that: you need repairs on your $10,000+ bike

@bigbengamer – I wasnt there, just going by the video. Turning the bike with the brakes is called trail braking. Lots of really fast riders do it. But they are looking through the turn to where they want the bike to go. I’ll concede he was too fast for the simple fact that he crashed. But the line into the crash screams target fixation to me. And yeah no matter how you spell it: that is one embarassing ride home.

@tweekscratch its not target fixation. Do you ride? when you have the brakes on the front wheel clamped, its not going to turn. that’s why his friend ahead of him ended up crossing the yellow line. he overshot the turn because he was going too fast for it, and couldn’t lean the bike into the turn in time. he elected stopping over chancing it. the camera rider didn’t have as much time to react, which is why he lost it.

Going too fast for a turn you’re not familiar with, realizing you’re going to fast, looking where you’re might end up, getting fixated on it, and going right there… instead of hanging off your bike getting your head way over the mirror, getting your knee down, and making it through the turn.

It’s called trail braking. By carefully controlling the brakes the front end suspension is collapsed down changing the geo. making the bike turn faster. Too hard on the brakes will low side your @ss. Got learn to ride then talk to me about it. I’m not fast but I know what I’m talking about

@tweekscratch if you knew what you were talking about, then you’d know that the video i posted has a Ducati in it. you can claim trail braking all you want, but there’s one thing you’re failing to realize: HE IS NOT TRAIL BRAKING IN THIS VIDEO! and you should read again what i wrote. I said when you CLAMP the front brake, THE BIKE WILL NOT TURN! and, if you pay attention to the video, HE DID LOW SLIDE!

You made my argument back to me. CLAMP is not a precise word. Most riders think they have ‘CLAMP’ed on the brakes are brarely using 30% of the available braking. The bike will turn as long as the front wheel turns.

Before you question MY credibility, let me also ad that i have a Nighthawk 750 that is my daily commuter. I ride even in the rain, and i know my bike very intimately when it comes to its handling and performance. I know what i’m talking about, moron.

@tweekscratch LMAO I’m wrong, says you. But the video speaks for itself. The evidence is all there, in black and white. Did i also mention that i’m a criminal justice major, and one of my strongest classes was Mechanical Forensics. THAT is where you take evidence on scene and, in this case video, and reconstruct what happened. I watched this crash several times before i ever wrote one word on here about it. Hmmm looks weird. They are much to slow to crash just because of bracking to much… maybe the road is oiled…
